Among the main objectives set by Interprofessional White Coat pig company, Interporc, the need to promote technological innovation around meat products as well as the processes involved in their value chain, including identifying and incorporating innovations and technological improvements for them are key highlights.

To achieve this, Interporc has proposed the creation of operational research groups to address those lines of research that are of interest to the sector. To this end, various actions have been identified that would improve aspects such as animal health and the quality of livestock production. This would allow a reduction of the environmental impact both in the livestock and in meat production.

The operational groups are the vehicle designed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Environment to meet the objectives to comply to the European Innovation Associations (AEI). Through the European Regulation on Aid for Rural Development (FEADER) funding will be given to these groups through various cooperative measures.

The task of the various operational groups to be formed will be to define concrete projects with which to solve problems or take advantage of growth opportunities for the agrifood and forestry sector.

With this objective, Inteporc has selected Ayming as an innovation agent due to its experience regarding the management of financing of R+D+i projects in the agri-food sector.
